I would have thought that would be easier to write than an entire stand alone app such as this. Go to on your mobile device, then download the app for. Namely to simply have an extension that opens a pop out window (much like making a shortcut to voice has) but allowing it to run in the taskbar as a background Chrome app. Go to the Hangouts desktop app, and click the button to +Add to Chrome. Personally, it seems a bit of overkill as I would have thought it was less work (and less resources) to mimic the functionality the Hangouts extension had. Kudos to the dev though for stepping up with this for those that need it. That is the main advantage of this app if you can't abide simply keeping a GV tab pinned in your always open Chrome. You can of course always pop out your GV tab (or make an app shortcut to do this), but you run the risk of closing the window and not getting your notifications. I would say the main reason to use this app is if you don't keep Chrome open all the time (I do) or for some reason you *must* have your GV texts in a separate window. Dica: esta janela pop-up pode aparecer logo depois que você usa o Google Chat pela primeira vez. Para instalar o app no computador, tente um destes métodos: Se o app ainda não estiver instalado, uma janela pop-up será aberta para fazer o download. Click on download link: Click on the download icon and it will take sometime. Instalar o app independente no computador. Choose the site from your choice: After that, you see the many sites, choose according to your choice. Download on Android Download on iOS Determine which experience you are in The new Google Meet app : The. I have found that just keeping a tab open and pinned in my browser with web notifications enabled works well. Search google hangouts: On the search bar, type Download google hangouts and press enter. Computer Android iPhone & iPad On your mobile device, download the new Meet app. However, using the GV web page within Chrome is much less memory intensive than running this app in tandem with Chrome. My assumption is because this is based on Chrome and has to replicate an instance of Chrome which itself opens multiple tabs and is a total memory hog. This app uses about 200 MB of memory and runs multiple processes. However, while it replicates my Hangouts experience fairly closely in GV (separate window, minimize to taskbar on close!, etc), I don't think I'll be using it. This is just about as perfect as you could ask for given the current circumstance. So now that Hangouts is totally dead for calls and receiving incoming GV SMS needed to find an alternative to the Hangouts extension for Voice which would emulate it as much as possible.
